Reclaimed cedar as an indoor light post with antique glass. The charred cedar, textured glass, and LED Edison bulb gives off a warm glow that fills the room. Texture and contrast also provides for this piece's unique and interesting charm.
This was not in great shape when I found this beam in a junk pile. The wood was still in great shape, I just needed to bring it back to life.
Using the natural crack made for the perfect way to hide the light cord. Next will be taking it to the flame to add texture, and contrast.
The base is designed to lift the post to make it look and feel lighter for this solid piece. The antique glass is from a school house bathroom door and provides a great diffusion of it's light.
Making sure the base is secure.
It's not just about the light, but the whole piece, including the base, that makes this a one of a kind light.
