Made from cherry & white oak, this entry bench or one for the foot of the bed, is not only comfortable, but interesting. A modern prairie style with a hint of Japanese influence, creates a minimalist clean look.
No screws or nails (all joinery), makes this piece even more impressive. A cap to finish off the lone leg.
Now it was getting a little tricky. Not just the joint, but the right look when finished while making sure not to break the top cap.
A flat bench is fine, but it's much more comfortable if it forms to the body just a little bit. Details that make a difference.
Precision measuring and domino cutting for the supports on the back rest creates a perfect fit! Double checking everything and patients paid off.
The back looks just as interesting as the front.
